The Night Before Christmas

"Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."
This is mine and my mom's favorite book and movie. Great book to read to get in the Christmas mood.

Nothingness

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. It's not like anyone wants to hear about books anyways. I was thinking about telling the entire story of Divergent, but decided that if you want to know more than you have to read it for yourself.

Divergent (whole story)

So I don't know of any good books to blog about, so I figured I would let you know how far I am in this book. It starts out with Beatrice and her brother, Caleb. They are apart of the Abnegeton faction. (There are 5 factions: Abnegeton, Erudite, Amity, Dauntless, and Candor) In the Abnegeton faction you must put others before yourself and not be self orientated. She and her brother are both 16 which means they are able to choose which faction they want to be. At the Choosing Ceremony you walk on the stage and recieve a knife in which you will cut your palm and drop blood in the bowl of which faction you are choosing. If you stay in your own faction you are still able to see your family, but if you don't you are not allowed to talk to them except for on Visting day. (If they even want to see you) Before the ceremony they take a test which basically tells them which faction is best for them. When Beatrice takes hers, she is not given the results wanted. She does not fit specifically in any faction, so she is Divergent. She is faced with the difficult decision of picking which she wants to be. On the Choosing Ceremony day, Beatrice chooses Dauntless and Caleb chooses Erudite. Dauntless are daring and dangerous. I will post more as I read on in the book!

Full-Tilt

Blake and his younger brother, Quinn, have nothing in common. Blake is reponsible while Quinn is a dare devil who is always in trouble. One night, Quinn and Blake go to a carnival. Once you get in you cannot get back out. In order to leave the carnival, you must survive and beat 7 rides by dawn. Blake has a horrible secret that he must face to save himself and his brother before the carnival takes his soul and they are stuck there forever.

(There are still several books left in the Missing series, but I haven't read them)

Sabotaged

So I am getting better of doing the series of books in order, so thanks for being patient! Sabotaged is the 3rd book of the Found series. Katherine and Jonah have helped Chip and Alex survive 15th century London. They are now sent to help another missing child from history, Andrea. She is actually Virgina Dare from the Colony of Roanoke. Since their last mission went well they are confident that this one should be a breeze, but they were mistaked. They have landed in the wrong time period and Andrea does not want to leave. Plus someone has secretly sabotaged their mission. Fantastic book, highly recommened and very suspenseful.

Sent

I am sorry that I have no planned order so the 2nd book to a series is a few posts later, but I am only human. Anyways, at the end of Found they discover that they are missing children from history who were kidnapped. I won't tell you how they find out or how they get to the next place they are going because you will have to read it to find out. Chip is sent back to his time with a kid named Alex that just recently met. When they are going Jonah grabs Chip's arm and Katherine grabs Jonah's, so they are all transported back in time. They find out that Chip is Edward V, the kind of England, and Alex is his younger brother named Richard, Duke of York. They find out that their uncle has a plan to kill them so he will recieve the throne. So, it is all up to Jonah and Katherine to save their friend's lives while keeping history the same.

Breaking Dawn

I know I have talked of the Twilight series, but since it is getting close to the time to the release of the 2nd part, we will discuss it. In the first part of the movie, Bella and Edward get married and go to Isle Esme for their honeymoon. While there they find out that Bella is pregnant. As she progresses in her pregnancy, the baby weakens her because she cannot eat. She ends up having to drink blood to satisfy the babies needs since it is half human and half vampire. The werewolfs find out and are set to destroy the baby. Jacob is, of course, against it so he goes off on his own with 2 followers. He imprints on the baby so they cannot kill her. Bella begins the slow and painful tranformation of human to vampire. The end of the movie is where she wakes up with the red vampire eyes. From what I have seen on commercials, the 2nd part should be fantastic! Can't wait! 4 days!

Found

"You are one of the missing." This is the mysterious letter recieved by 13 year old Jonah and his friend Chip. They both know they are adopted, but it never bothered them until the astranged letters. They then recieve a second letter saying, "Beware. They are coming back for you." This is only the beginning for Chip, Jonah, and Jonah's little sister Katherine. An airplane suddenly appears at the airport and all 3 of them are brough into a FBI investigation. Nobody knows where it came from or how it got there. All they know is something is definetley not right. To figure out what happens you have to read the book. It is by Margaret Peterson Haddix and it is a fantastic book. It is also part of a series. I personally have read all except for the newest one. Thanks for visiting and I will chat with you later!

The Ghost and The Goth

I have just finished the book, The Ghost and The Goth. This book is about a cheerleader, Alona Dare, who gets ran over by a bus full of band geeks. She is stuck in the "in-between" phase of death. She can see and hear all of friends and family, but they cannot see her. There is one particular person that she can interact with, Will Killian. Will is the average quiet, goth guy with an unsuprising gift inherited by his father. Obviously, he can't go around advertising that he can speak to ghost because everyone will think he is crazy. His mom and his therapist, Dr. Miller, think he is just a schitsophrenic. (If only they knew the truth.) As this book progresses, Alona and Will go through some very troubling times. There are several suprises in this book that will completely shock you. I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is one of the best books I have ever read! I am going to read either Divergent or The Queen of the Dead next. (The Queen of the Dead is the second book of The Ghost and The Goth series) Thanks for checking out my blog and chat with you next time!

Creepy Times

Now that we are only about 5 days away from Halloween, I figured I could talk about some scary books and movies. Even though for young children, Goosebumps are popular scary novels. I have read and own a few of these books and I find them very interesting. My favorite is Ghost Camp and the one about the chicken. I don't remember everything that happened in Ghost Camp so you will have to read that one on your own. In the one about the chicken, a girl and her friend  go to investigate a woman who the believe to be a witch. Some events happen and when she goes home she starts turning into a chicken. You will have to read the book to find out the rest:)

Some popular scary movies are:  Halloween (Micheal Meyers), Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream series, It, and several others. My personal favorites are the 1st three listed, but my absolute favorite is Scream. I just love the plot. If I am not able to blog with you before Halloween, have a creepy Halloween!

Catching Fire

I know it is a little late, but, the second novel of the Hunger Games series is also a great book. Catching Fire is the best book of all of the series. In the Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta "fall in love" and win the Hunger Games. In Catching Fire, Katniss and Peeta are planning this great big wedding when it is time for another game. Instead of the original games it is time for the "special" games. This is where each district picks a male and female victor from the past to go and fight in the 75th year of the games. It starts out as a normal fight, but then there are some very shocking twists. This is absolutely one of the best books that I have ever read! I have did not want to put it down because it was so amazing. I highly, highly, HIGHLY, recommend this book. You have to read Hunger Games first though! I believe that Catching Fire is either about to or is currently being made into a movie. I cannot wait! It will be amazing! Chat with you next time!

Divergent

Next book on the list is Divergent. I have purchased this book, but haven't been able to read it due to The Ghost and The Goth. This book is about 16 year old Beatrice Prior who has to choose from 5 predetermianted factions to define the rest of her life. Which she finds out is a hard decision because she does not fit into any social group and sociaty is definetely not perfect. I  have heard from several people that this is an extremely good  book so I plan to read it ASAP! If you have read it please feel free to comment and that goes for all the post!

Twilight Series

Another hot series is the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer. I have read all 4 of these novels and they were all fantastic. My personal favorite is the last, Breaking Dawn. I love the transition from human to vampire and the unexpected events. It all starts with Bella Swan who moves to live with her father in Forks. She meets Edward Cullen who she later discovers is a vampire and the fall madly in love. The series continues their tragic love story over the year. The movies have all been fantastic too, but the books are always better. I cannot wait until the 2nd part of Breaking Dawn comes out next month. From all the commercials that have been aired, i can predict that it will be epic. If you have not read the series or watched the movies I strongly suggest for you to do so. They are amazing.

Fifty Shade of Gray

I personally have not and cannot read this particular book, but Fifty Shades of Gray has been getting some rave reviews. There has been a lot of talk of this book and not all good things. It is a very descriptive book of inappropriate thing for children, so to speak. It is a very contreversial subject to several people. Fifty Shades of Gray will be turned into a movie sometime next year.

Aside from most popular books, I am currently reading The Ghost and The Goth. It is about a popular cheerleader who gets ran over by a bus of band folks. I find it funny just because I am in the band and the cheerleader dies:) Anyways, it is a great book so i highly recommend it to all of you visitors. It is a series and i believe the name of the next book is Queen Dead. So check those out and I will blog with you later.

The Hunger Games

Here lately, the rave has been about the book and movie of the Hunger Games. I personally thought the book was way better than the movie as far as details go.  Don't get me wrong, the movie was great too. My favorite book out the the series has to be Catching Fire. I am so excited for it to become a movie! The way it ties up everything that happens in Hunger Games is just so shocking. You would never expect that much of a ending. I would very much recommend the Hunger Game series

Overview

This blog basically stated the "hottest" (so to speak) books and movies currently. It doesn't neccessarily change every post so I might just decide to talk about the previous book or movie. Thanks for visiting and I will chat with you later!
